Ankeny: Let’s Get Social: Social Media 101

Ankeny: Let’s Get Social: Social Media 101

Nine hours a day. That’s the average amount of time a teenager spends on social media platforms each day. The amount of time individuals spend on social media is ever increasing and the vast number of social media sites also continues to climb. During this presentation we’ll look at the different social media sites and apps, how to navigate those sites and how to keep yourself safe. We’ll also discuss social media’s impact on youth self-esteem and mental health and ways to set social media ground rules at home.

Ankeny: Orientation Session

Ankeny: Orientation Session

Consider becoming a foster parent for Iowa's children!

We are looking for families who can care for larger sibling groups and school aged children who need safe foster homes!

Youth enter foster care through no fault of their own and need a caring, stable family for temporary care, a few days to several months, or for the purpose of permanency through guardianship or adoption.

Foster parents can be a single person or a partnered or married couple and come from diverse and varied backgrounds.

If you want to help but aren’t ready to become a foster parent, you can make a difference by referring someone you know who would be a great foster/adoptive family or by volunteering to help us get the word out about Four Oaks Fostering Connections.

Please plan to attend and hear more about how you can help your community support children & families in the child welfare system.
