Join Iowa KidsNet for two upcoming information sessions

Iowa KidsNet is hosting two upcoming information sessions for Native American community members to learn more about foster care.

Native American tradition is rooted in the belief and practice that all members of the extended family have an obligation to care for children. Iowa KidsNet is looking for parents interested in fostering and connecting children to their culture.

The first information session will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, at the Four Directions Center, 613 Water Street, in Sioux City.

Iowa KidsNet will also host a Meskwaki Community Conversation from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, at the Meskwaki Tribal Center Snack Bar, 349 Meskwaki Road, in Tama. This session will cover topics such as what the foster care system looks like, how a case progresses, and why it’s important to keep a child’s background when placed in out-of-home care.

The conversations are open to families and community members. Let’s make a difference together by exploring foster parenting options in your community.
